Solar Installation Process

Once you determine that the solar alternative is right for your home or business the process is as follows:

A solar PV installation takes approximately 90 days for a residential installation, (longer for commercial) from the time you engage with Northeast Smart Energy to the time your utility meter is swapped and you receive final approval from your utility company.

Once we receive your approval from your state’s Clean Energy Program, your local utility and all building and electrical permits, we start your installation. The approval process takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

The time to do the physical installation is approximately 1-5 days for residential (longer for commercial) depending on size. The installation comprises mounting solar PV panels to the roof, installing an inverter and connecting the system electrically to your service panel.

After the installation Northeast Smart Energy will file your final application with your local utility for your interconnection, this takes approximately 2-4 weeks.

There is a lot of paperwork and third party scheduling required to receive final approval for a solar PV system.  Our Solar specialists at Northeast Smart Energy provide you with a complete turn-key service handling all of these important steps on your behalf.
